After some digging I uncovered that Netbeans doesn&#8217;t like PPK files, [...]]]></description> <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Recently I ran into an issue with key based authentication between Netbeans and an sFTP server.  It was returning an error saying I had an invalid private key.</p><p>The key worked for other tools, so I was slightly confused why it wouldn&#8217;t for Netbeans.</p><p>After some digging I uncovered that Netbeans doesn&#8217;t like PPK files, it needs OpenSSH key files in order to connect with key based authentication</p><p>The fix is pretty simple;</p><ol><li>Download <a
href="http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html" target="_blank">PuTTY Key Generator</a>.</li><li>Open your PPK file. (<strong>File &gt; Load Private Key</strong>)</li><li>Convert your file. This is a handy wee feature because if you are doing anything that will take more than a couple of minutes having a small [...]]]></description> <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Holding down the CTRL key in right clicking in the PuTTY terminal window will bring up a menu with a good few options on it, one of them is full screen.</p><p>This is a handy wee feature because if you are doing anything that will take more than a couple of minutes having a small window can quickly become distracting (all the windows behind it become background noise) and of course now you have more screen real estate for things like VI to play with.</p><p>To come out of full screen mode CTRL and right click again and click full screen again.</p> ]]></content:encoded> <wfw:commentRss>http://tosbourn.com/2010/02/development/switching-between-full-screen-modes-in-putty/feed/</wfw:commentRss> <slash:comments>0</slash:comments> </item> </channel> </rss>
