Update – Work has started on the ELI5 section, now called Simple CS
This year I am taking part in a project to explain computer science and web development concepts in a really simple way.
I am borrowing the concept from Reddit’s Explain Like I am 5 subreddit.
This means for each thing I describe (there are going to be a lot) I will;
- Assume no prior knowledge
- Use non-industry specific words
- Write in plain English
Right now I am focusing on words and terminology used in;
- Computer Science
- Front End Web Development
- Back End Web Development
- Linux Usage
- Mac Usage
The project will probably become a stand alone website and ebook, I haven’t got that far yet (I am still collating the words I will be describing).
If you are interested in getting (infrequent, non-spammy) updates as to how this project progresses you can sign up to this email list.
If you think this is a good idea and have Twitter I would really appreciate it if you could retweet this;
