You can now scan Irish text with Screaming Frog

We asked, they delivered. Screaming Frog can spell check Irish language

We now help with two projects (Irish Pipes and Turas) that are focused on and written with Irish (Gaeilge), as part of this work we do some SEO reporting for the clients.

By the way, if you have an Irish language project and need some tech folk to help with it, get in touch!

One of the issues with doing SEO for an Irish language website is that a lot of the SEO tooling isn’t geared to understand the language, so doing on-page optimisations gets a bit tricky.

One of the tools we use to help our clients with SEO is Screaming Frog.

A while back we reached out to them and asked if they would consider supporting Irish, since we knew their dictionaries came from the dev.languagetool.org project, which has Irish.

They got back and said they would add a feature request. We didn’t think anything would come of it to be honest, whilst it is probably quick to implement, we were sure it would be well down their list of priorities.

About six weeks after we emailed the support request they got back to say that Screaming Frog now supports Irish!.

Tá mé iontach iontach sasta faoi seo! (I am very, very happy about this!). So yeah, if you look after SEO for Irish language websites, I’m happy to recommend Screaming Frog!
